The relevance of the issue: The endocrine system plays a crucial role in the development and progression of atherosclerotic calcification (atherocalcinosis). Endocrine disorders can directly or indirectly lead to vascular calcification, i.e., the development of atherocalcinosis. The recognition of the endocrine system as the basis for the development of atherocalcinosis is important for the early identification of individuals at high-risk, reducing the consequences of atherocalcinosis in the community, and its prevention and treatment. The treatment of endocrine disorders and the maintenance of hormonal balance serve as an important strategy for the prevention and management of atherocalcinosis.
