FREQUENCY OF OCCURRENCE OF CIRCULATORY DISORDERS IN THE ILIAC ARTERIES AMONG UROLOGICAL PATIENTS
Abstract
Introduction: the relationship between urological problems in the elderly and circulatory disorders in the pelvic organs remains controversial. Material and methods: 45 patients with urinary disorders and erectile dysfunction, aged 63.9±3.8 years, were examined. Dopplerography and MSCT of the aorta and iliac arteries were used. Results: atherocalcified plaques in the iliac arteries were detected in 15 (50%) of 30 patients with SIDS caused by BPH, in 5 (62.5%) of 8 patients with underactive bladder syndrome and in 5 (71.4%) of 7 patients with erectile dysfunction. Conclusions: in patients with urinary disorders and erectile dysfunction over the age of 40, 55.6% of cases have impaired blood circulation in the iliac arteries.
