RESULTS OF TREATMENT OF PATIENTS WITH URINARY DISORDERS COMBINED WITH ATHEROCALCINOSIS OF THE ILIAC ARTERIES
Abstract
Introduction: the development of optimal therapeutic technologies to eliminate urination disorders associated with circulatory disorders in the pelvic organs is one of the current areas. Material and methods: 30 patients with SIDS caused by BPH, aged 68.4±3.1 years, were examined. The patients were divided into two groups: the main group - 15 (50%) patients with circulatory disorders in the iliac arteries, the control group - 15 (50%) patients without circulatory disorders. Treatment was carried out with alpha-blockers and phosphodiesterase type 5 inhibitors for 3 months. Results: with drug treatment of patients in both groups, regardless of the presence or absence of circulatory disorders in the iliac arteries, the IPSS questionnaire scores, maximum urine flow rate and residual urine volume significantly improved. Conclusions: Three-month drug treatment of patients with LUTS caused by BPH, alpha-blockers and phosphodiesterase type 5 inhibitors is effective both in patients with and without iliac artery circulatory disorders. However, when comparing the results of the IPSS questionnaire and uroflowmetry, there are no statistically significant differences between the two groups (p> 0.05).
