Abstract
A mathematical development of the idea on deposition of crystallohydrates as the initial stage in the origin of large banks of gaseous hydrocarbons renders further support to the mechanism so visualized, on physiochemical premises and others. This paper reviews different aspects on the formation of gas hydrates and the mechanics of deposition in horizontal isolated beds, horizontal beds with inflow from underlying horizons, lateral migration into beds and formation of a deposit extended in direction of movement of stratal waters.
