Abstract

This study deals with current modes in SNS and SINS juntions. The temperature characteristic of the Josephson current is determined by the phase-coherent spectrum of discrete states of quasiparticles in the normal layer. Transient characteristics of an SINS junction in an alternating electromagnetic field are also established here, and it is shown that the impedance is a nonmonotonic function of the frequency. The oscillation period is found from the relation ℏω=2ΔEn, with ΔEn denoting the difference between energy levels is the discrete spectrum.
