Abstract
In the temperature range 0.4°K–Tλ the temperature dependence of the absorption coefficient of fourth sound in superfluid helium was investigated on the basis of measuring the amplitude of the sound signal. It was demonstrated that the principal contribution to the absorption of fourth sound is made by viscous losses associated with the slippage of the normal components along the channel walls.
