Abstract

The features of the magnetic reversal of erbium ferrite garnet in the (110) plane are studied at T = 4.2 °K. For this purpose at the same time we study the domain structure by means of the Faraday magnetooptic effect and the absorption spectra in the region of the 4I15/2→4S3/2 transition of the Er3+ ion for each domain. The phase diagram is determined experimentally in the range of magnetic fields from 0 to 40 kOe.
