Singularities in the relaxation of electron excitations in neon crystals

Abstract
Results are presented of experimental measurements of the luminescence spectra of solid neon induced by slow electrons in the vacuum ultraviolet range. The temperature dependence of the spectra is studied. The dynamics of excitons in neon crystals is discussed, and the process of trapping the excitations in the lattice with the formation of quasifree centers of de-excitation of atomic and molecular types is examined.
