Abstract

The effect of an exchange interaction between the electric and magnetic subsystems of a ferroelectric antiferromagnet on its magnetoelectric spectrum is investigated. It is shown that this interaction results in a coupling of the ferroelectric and the low-frequency spin branches in an external magnetic field. The ferroelectric frequency varies insignificantly, while a change in the spin frequency can be appreciable in strong magnetic fields. The polarization of waves in different branches of the spectrum is investigated.
