Abstract

The behavior of the longitudinal component of the magnetoresistivity tensor of aluminum is investigated, allowing for “topological” anisotropy of the distribution function caused by the magnetic field. Scattering is represented as a combination of isotropic scattering and electron diffusion along the Fermi surface. The calculated results describe rather well the behavior of (Δρzz/ρ0)(T) observed in experiments for the two basic crystallographic orientations H ‖ <100> and H ‖ <110>.
