Abstract

The effect of an intrinsic magnetic field on the electrical conductivity of thin semimetallic films whose thickness is comparable with the de Broglie wavelength of the charge carriers is studied. Boundary scattering is assumed to be nearly specular. It is shown that the intrinsic magnetic flow field shifts the size quantization levels of the charge carriers and varies the distance between them. This effect manifests itself in terms of a dependence of the period and amplitude of the size quantization oscillations of the condutivity on current density. The intrinsic magnetic field is taken into account within the framework of perturbation theory.
