Abstract
The vapor pressure of nitrogen has been measured in a temperature interval from 84°K to within 0.05°K of the critical temperature Tc. The data have been used to test the equations of the scaling theory. It has been shown that the measured data are best approximated by the “extended symmetric scaling” equation postulated earlier by V. L. Pokrovskii with the exponent α for the divergence of d2P/ dT2 as T approaches Tc being equal to 0.11 ± 0.03.
