Abstract
Volume viscosity of liquid Ar-Kr mixtures of various compositions was determined from sound absorption measurements for the frequency range 25−126 MHz in the temperature interval 90−140° K. Shear viscosity was determined by the oscillations disk method over the same concentration and temperature ranges. The apparently different dependences of shear and volume viscositities on mixture composition are analyzed within the one- and two-liquid solution models, and corresponding relaxation times are estimated. The results obtained are evaluated from the viewpoint of change in the character of thermal motion with change in mixture composition.
