Abstract

Electric dipole exciton–magnon absorption of light has been discovered and studied in antiferromagnets at the frequencies of the purely excitonic transition and of the “hot” magnon satellite induced by the disruption of the antiparallelism of the sublattice magnetic moments as well as by the thermal population of the lower energy levels.
