Abstract

Invariants of third order in the magnetic moments are incorporated in discussing temperature-induced phase transitions in a weakly ferromagnetic orthorhombic crystal. It is shown that these invariants cause the known phase transition from the weakly ferromagnetic state to the antiferromagnetic state in such a crystal to be in fact a transition to another weakly ferromagnetic state arising from these invariants.
