Abstract

We have studied the spatial structure of the nonequilibrium current in the neighborhood of a junction between a normal metal and a superconductor containing a small concentration of paramagnetic impurities Δ τ ≫ 1, Δ τs ≫ 1. Branch mixing leads to penetration of a longitudinal electric field into the superconductor to a depth δ ≫ ξ (T). Due to the energy dependence of the branch mixing frequencies, the energy distribution of the electrons in the normal metal near the junction differs from the usual one. We estimate the influence of this kinetic effect on the thermoelectric energy flux in the normal metal near the junction.
