Abstract

Results are presented of the experimental investigation of the thermal conductivity of Pbl2 and In4Se3 single crystals parallel to the plane of the layers in the temperature range 2–30°K. The ranges of influence of Umklapp and boundary scattering processes on the phonon thermal conductivity have been determined. It is shown that in the first range (above 10°K) a peculiarity in the phonon spectrum of the quasi-two-dimensional structures, namely, the presence of a bending branch, is manifest; in the second range (below 4°K) phonon scattering on block boundaries proceeds in the same way as in three-dimensional crystals.
