Abstract

Current-controlled cross-shaped thin-film structures are investigated. The nonstationary Josephson effect, the characteristics of which are determined by the value of the controlling current, is obtained near Tc on the current-controlled weak link. Long films that formed a cross-shaped structure had a high degree of homogeneity. The irradiation-induced critical current enhancement observed in these strips is described well by Éliashberg’s theory. After formation of the weak link the relative increase of the irradiation-induced critical current becomes larger and, simultaneously, the absolute current values decrease.
