Abstract

It is shown that observation of oscillations in the thermodynamic characteristics accompanying a smooth change in pressure is possible in metals having a special type of electron spectrum in the presence of dislocations. The oscillations are due to the electron states localized near the dislocations. The oscillating part of the specific heat is evaluated and analyzed. At sufficiently low temperatures the amplitude of the specific heat oscillations can exceed the magnitude of its smooth part in a dislocation-free metal.
