Abstract
The luminescence and excitation spectra for crystalline NaMnCl3 are reported for the temperature interval 4.2–100 °K. The observed spectral properties are explained on the basis of exciton selflocalization. In magnetic fields a delocalization of the excitons is observed, due to the increase of the noncollinearity of the magnetic structure of the crystal.
