Abstract
A theoretical study is made of current instabilities of a charged surface of liquid helium. These instabilities are produced by the “evaporation” of electrons from surface levels into the quasicontinuous spectrum region. In a de driving field, current-voltage characteristics are S-shaped, while for high frequency ac fields, the characteristics are N-shaped.
