Abstract
Features of acoustic absorption in the intermediate state of a superconducting metal with a complex conduction electron dispersion law are investigated theoretically for an arbitrary frequency and orientation of the sound wave vector. Giant oscillations on open orbits are detected. The generality of the mechanism for the origination of thermomagnetic and magnetoacoustic effects in the intermediate state due to the presence of a periodic “superstructure” in momentum space is established.
