Abstract
Experiments have been conducted to determine the dependence of the ultrasound propagation velocity in liquid hydrogen on the thermodynamic parameters and the ortho–para mixture. The results are used to find the difference in the ultrasound velocity in normal and para hydrogen. The experimental data are analyzed using a theoretical model which takes into account the important role of the quantum effects and the anisotropy of molecular interactions in ortho-para hydrogen mixtures.
