Abstract

We made observations of magnetic-dipole two-magnon subthreshold absorption (TSA), linear in the incident microwave power, in the quasi-one-dimensional antiferromagnet CsMnCl3⋅2H2O. The frequency-field dependence of the positions of the TSA bands was investigated and so was the variation of the shape and intensity of the bands over wide ranges of magnetic fields, frequencies, and temperatures. The distinctive features of the behavior of the TSA bands are described within the framework of existing theoretical concepts. The magnitude of the weak interchain interaction in CsMnCl3⋅2H2O is estimated (J1 = 12.7 Oe) from the shape of the lines of the total TSA.
