Abstract
We present a phenomenological method which makes it possible, in the framework of the exchange approximation, to find the possible microscopic spin-density distribution compatible with a given lattice space group in the magnetically ordered state. All the possible magnetic structures (homogeneous and helical) are found and classified according to symmetry types. The classification is similar to that suggested by Andreev and Marchenko [Zh. Ésp. Teor. Fiz. 70, 528 (1976)].
