Abstract
We use the equations of Landau’s theory extended to the case of arbitrary momentum transfer to derive an effective hamiltonian of a Fermi liquid. As applied to 3He the exchange of fluctuations in the particle and spin current densities is responsible for the effective attraction and formation of Cooper pairs with l = 1. We show that in the local response approximation fluctuations in the spin current can be the origin of the preference for the A phase over the B phase. We calculate the pressure dependence of the Landau parameter Z1.
