Abstract

We studied the anisotropy of the magnetic susceptibility of CdHg ω-phase single crystals near the critical point of the spectrum under a hydrostatic pressure of up to 1800 atm at 20.4 °K. A correlation is established between the electronic and structural transitions and an estimate is made of the shift of the critical point under hydrostatic compression. The data are used to predict the behavior of the ω-phase boundary under pressure.
