High frequency properties of antiferroelectric ferrites

Abstract

Expressions are obtained for the spectrum of coupled magnetoelectric oscillations and the high frequency susceptibility tensor in a uniaxial antiferroelectric ferrite. It is shown that electrical polarization oscillations may cause the appearance of an extremum in the temperature dependence of the magnetization below the electric and magnetic transition temperatures. The possibility of spin wave participation in the detection of an ac electric field is demonstrated.
