Abstract

Nonlinear domain-wall dynamics is investigated in terms of many-soliton collisions within the framework of the exactly soluble one-dimensional Landau–Lifshitz equation for an orthorhombic ferromagnet. The change in the density of magnon states in the presence of domain walls is found from the data on magnon-drop scattering by a domain wall, and the contribution of domain walls to classical low-temperature phenomenological thermodynamics is computed.
