Probability of two-phonon scattering of polaritons in xenon cryocrystals

Abstract
We have studied the properties of the intensity distribution and the structure of the resonance band in the polariton luminescence in solidified xenon. The existence of an additional maximum in the emission at low temperatures (T < 10 °K) is related to the presence of anomalies at the corresponding frequency in the two-phonon Raman scattering probability, while the symmetrization of the resonance band for T >60°K is explained by thermal activation of two-phonon scattering of polaritons by acoustic phonons at this temperature.
