Abstract
The ESR spectrum of Co2+ ions in a Na2ZnCl4 · 3H2O crystal with tetrahedral coordination of the bivalent impurity ion is studied with the help of a spectrometer in the 4 mm wavelength range. The spectrum obtained is described by an axial spin Hamiltonian for an ion with S = 3/2, I = 7/2 and with parameters D = + (7.13 ± 0.03) cm−1, g‖ = 2.26±0.01, g⊥ = 2.37±0.02, A = (11 ± 1) · 10−4 cm−1, and B = (22±1)·10−4 cm−1.
