Abstract

We propose a method of calculating low-frequency branches of the vibration spectra in polymers and biopolymers. We carry out a comparison analysis of low-frequency spectral characteristics and low-temperature heat capacities of discrete spirals of various types in terms of a simple model consisting of monatomic discrete spirals. We consider the physical causes which give rise to the linear dependence and conformation sensitivity of the low-temperature heat capacity of high-molecular-weight compounds
