Abstract

The spontaneous oscillations (noise) spectrum of a charged liquid-helium surface has been measured in the frequency range 17–2 ⋅ 104 Hz. The data obtained reveal a peak corresponding to surface excitations with a wave number of the order of the reciprocal capillary constant and a significant change in this spectral region in the range of clamping field intensity values at which the transition from the homogeneous state into the charged-dimple-crystal state occurs.
