Abstract

Results are given of experimental studies of the heat capacity of CsDy(MoO4)2 in the temperature range 30–250 °K. A second-order phase transition was found at 59.4 °K. The energy parameters of the first-order phase transition at Tc (Cmax) = 42.0 °K have been calculated. It was established that both the phonon subsystem and, because of the presence of dysprosium in the crystal, the electron subsystem have appreciable responsibility for the occurrence of this transition.
