Abstract
An approach to the analysis of the lattice dynamics of quantum crystals near the melting line is presented which allows the establishment of the nature of the temperature dependence of the specific heat Cv of such crystals in the indicated temperature range. A comparison of the experimental Cv data available on 3He, 4He, and p-H2 in a density range whose upper limit is roughly 1.5 times higher than the lower limit indicates that the law of variation obtained for the Cv of quantum crystals in the limit T→Tm is obeyed in a temperature range that broadens with increasing crystal density, its width attaining a value of 0.42 Tm in the case of p-H2 at Pm ∼2400 bar.
