Abstract
The intrinsic rate of ortho-para conversion in liquid hydrogen has been studied experimentally as a function of the o–p composition over a wide range of ortho concentrations (8–75%), at a temperature of T = 20.34 K. We find a deviation from the relation dc/dt = −kc2 When the results obtained are described in terms of this equation, the value of k is reduced by some 25% on going from ortho to para hydrogen.
