Abstract
The magnetic phase diagram of the easy-axis antiferromagnet (C2H5NH3)2CuCl4 has been studied in a field parallel to the axis of easy magnetization and in an inclined field. It has been shown that over a certain temperature range the transition from the antiferromagnetic to the paramagnetic phase is realized as a first order phase transition. The H–T diagrams for antiferromagnets with spin S = 1/2 are classified.
