Abstract
Nonlinear thermoelectric phenomena in metallic point contacts are investigated taking into account the electron–phonon and electron–impurity scattering. A fundamentally new method for measuring the absolute value of the entrainment thermo-emf of conductors with the help of point contacts in a wide temperature range is discussed. The effect of thermoelectric phenomena on point-contact spectroscopy is analyzed. It is found that the features of the phonon density of states appear in the curve of d2Q/dV2—the second derivative of the heat flux with respect to the voltage.
