Abstract
The absorption of ultrasound in thin layers of a normal metal adjacent to a superconductor is investigated theoretically. It is shown that the interaction of charge carriers with the normal metal–superconductor boundary induces new magnetoacoustic effects, which can be studied experimentally to obtain information on Andreev reflection.
