Abstract

The potential quadratic in the current and arising between two superconductors that are not in a state of thermodynamic equilibrium with one another is measured. This nonequilibrium situation is realized with the help of periodic variation of the chemical potential of one of the superconductors (indium) by pumping with an alternating current. The measurements were performed at temperatures close to the critical temperature (T−Tc = 5 mK), which made it possible to separate the correction to the Bernoulli potential containing the electron-phonon interaction constant.
