Examination of the possibilities of nondestructive inspection of components of structural steels with a low demagnetizing factor

Abstract

Investigations were conducted into the magnetic characteristics of quenched and tempered 34KhN3M, 60S2A, and U8A steels in various magnetizing and demagnetizing conditions. The dependences of the magnetic characteristics on tempering temperature obtained on the toroids are compared with the previously examined identical dependences recorded for open specimens with lambda approx. = 6-8.
