Abstract

The field-dependence of the velocity of steady-state motion of an interphase magnetic domain wall in dysprosium orthoferrite is studied. Characteristic features of the motion of the interphase wall were observed: increase in the differential mobility accompanying an increase in the intensity of the driving field and asymmetry of the field-dependence of the velocity of the wall relative to the phase-transition field. It is shown that these features of the dynamics of the interphase wall are linked with the expansion of the wall when the applied field is different from the phase-transition field. The field-dependence of the velocity of the interphase wall is calculated based on a model which takes into account the transformation of the interphase wall, and the results are in qualitative agreement with experiment.
