Abstract

The distinctive features of the mutual annihilation of triplet excitons with a zero projection of the spin onto the direction of an external magnetic field (from 3.5 to 6 T) applied along the monoclinic axis are investigated in 4,4′-dichlorobenzophenone single crystals at a temperature of 2°K. An analysis of the possible relaxation processes in the exciton triplet and in the exciton pair complex shows that the nonmonotonic field dependence of the annihilation rate constant is attributable to nonphonon spin–lattice relaxation processes in the pair complex.
