Abstract
SYNOPSIS Knowledge of fine dead fuel moisture in prescribed burning is important. Three methods for calculating moisture content of fine dead vegetation are compared with values measured using a specially designed wooden crib. Field procedures for monitoring fine dead fuel moisture and making short-term predictions are discussed.
