Abstract
The electronic structure of iron digermanide was studied theoretically by the LMTO method. It was established that a sharp peak is present in the electronic density of states at the Fermi level as well as distinct p–d hybridization in the conduction band. It is shown that strong exchange-induced amplification of the spin paramagnetism occurs in FeGe2. The characteristics of the de Haas–van Alphen effect in iron digermanide are explained qualitatively.
