Abstract
It is shown that a domain wall in an antiferromagnet of the UO2 type, separating domains with different orientation of the unit antiferromagnetism vectors, can have a macroscopic thickness. This character of the domain wall is a result of the competition between the quadratic and biquadratic terms in the exchange Hamiltonian. A topological justification is given for the possibility of the appearance of a macroscopic domain wall.
