Abstract
Collective excitations of a separated 3He−4He mixture in a plane-parallel gap are investigated theoretically. The dependence of the dispersion law of the collective modes on the ratio of the thicknesses of the liquid phases is established. The conditions are determined for the stability of uniform phase separation in such a gap. The possible existence of a two-dimensional system of 4He impurity atoms in superfluid 3He near a smooth wall is discussed. The results can be used to investigate the superfluidity of two-dimensional systems.
