Abstract
The vibrational frequency spectrum of dislocations is studied under the influence of the Peierls charge pattern and randomly distributed impurity atoms creating potential wells of finite size. Implicit expressions are obtained for the spectral density of the vibrational frequencies in various limiting cases. The effect of concentration and intensity of impurities on the properties of the frequency spectrum is discussed. The low temperature interval in which the dislocation contribution to the thermodynamic properties of crystals may be experimentally observed is estimated.
