Abstract
Zeeman splitting of electron optical transitions of Dy3+ ions in KDy(MoO4)2 is investigated at temperatures above and below the temperature of structural phase transition (SPT). Experimental results are compared with the data calculated in the crystal field approximation for the microscopic model describing SPT in terms of multiplication of a crystal unit cell and the rhombic distortion of quasitetragonal centers of the Dy3+ ions.
