Abstract

The absorption of longitudinal ultrasound is studied experimentally in the high-temperature metal-oxide superconductor Y1.2Ba0.8CuO4−y having a transition temperature Tc = 91 K. It is found that at temperatures close to 150 K, the sound absorption decreases sharply upon a decrease in the temperature, attains a minimum value at 130−140 K, and then begins to increase once again. Another absorption minimum is observed below Tc.
